Child abuse. Child neglect. I know these aren’t easy topics. It is painful to think about children and youth experiencing abuse or neglect. Sadly, it happens every day. Last year more than 687,000 children in the U.S. were removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect and placed in foster care. At CASA of SoLA, we are dedicated to helping these children. Throughout Child Abuse Prevention Month this April, we are challenging individuals to walk #1MileForCASA.
One mile for CASA is a campaign centered around raising awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month. We ask our community members, staff, and anyone else to join us to walk one mile in support. Once you have completed your 1 mile, we ask you to post on social media with the hashtag #1MileForCASA and include wording surrounding the importance of raising awareness for this important issue. After you have posted your 1 mile, you can add our custom, temporary profile picture frame! Click here to view and add it to your profile.
We are determined to make sure every child in Southern Louisiana who has experienced abuse or neglect has a caring adult by their side who will speak up for their needs and best interests. Right now, we’re serving [insert percentage] children. With your support, we can do so much more.
Please make a gift today. Your generous support will help us recruit, train and support more CASAs so we can reach more children in need.
